The Rocket Man is coming to the Hawkeye State. He may already be here!

Elton John, who was set to perform in Iowa's capital prior to the pandemic, will be holding his highly anticipated, rescheduled concert in Wells Fargo Arena tomorrow.

Originally scheduled for June of 2020, John's show was pushed back nearly two years later to March 26, 2022. This concert is part of his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour," and all original ticket holders will have their purchases honored.

In fact, he'll be celebrating his birthday weekend in Des Moines, as today, March 25 is his 75th.

The last time he performed in Des Moines, according to Eltonography.com, was April 16, 2010, and the only time he's had a concert in Iowa since then was when he held a show at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City on May 3, 2011. The site says he has performed in Iowa a total of 12 times.

The tour started up again in North America on January 19 of this year, beginning in New Orleans. His stops will include large markets such as Houston, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Miami among others.

After his trip to Iowa, he'll perform at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska on Sunday, March 27. The international tour will come to a close in March of 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Some of his other international concerts will take place in countries like France, Germany, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Spain, and more.

The legendary musician shared this message in September of 2020 in regards to the tour starting up again:

I’ve been enjoying my time at home with the family while the world navigates its way through the COVID pandemic. But, I really miss being on the road and performing for my beloved fans in my Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. While the scientists are making great progress, we are making big plans for a return to touring that will allow us to ensure the health and safety of everyone. I will be starting my tour again in Europe and the U.K. in the fall of 2021. And I will be back in North America starting in January 2022. This means my New Zealand dates will be postponed until 2023. Don’t worry about me. I’m using my downtime to keep myself fighting fit and healthier than ever. I’m raring to go! As always, thank you so much for your loyal support. I look forward to seeing all you wonderful Elton John fans soon. In the meantime, please stay safe and be well. Thank you!
