Additional Information

Come join City High Drama December 6th-8th as they present one of the quintessential stories about redemption, A Christmas Carol--the story of Scrooge and Tiny Tim based on the classic novel by Charles Dickens.

It’s hard to imagine that someone would hate Christmas, but Ebeneezer Scrooge’s selfish and mean spirit make it difficult for him to enjoy the festive spirit of the Christmas season. Typical to his miserly self, it’s Christmas Eve and Scrooge mistreats his workers and refuses to accept his nephew’s invitation to spend Christmas together.

Scrooge has quite a treat when he arrives home and is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, followed by three more ghosts: the ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. The journey through time helps Scrooge realize that what he has been doing is wrong, and he wakes up on Christmas Day ready for redemption.

City High Drama’s A Christmas Carol will take the stage December 6th and 7th at 7:30 pm, and December 7th and 8th  at 2:00 pm in Opstad Auditorium at City High School. The auditorium is located at 1900 Morningside Drive in Iowa City.

Ticket prices are $6 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can only be purchased at the door beginning 30 minutes before each performance. Seating is general admission.
