In the current economic world that we are all living and working in, you don't figure to read too many stories about companies giving out bonuses at the end of the year. And rarely, will it happen to the people who truly deserve it, our frontline workers who despite a pandemic, have worked their tails off no matter the risk. But one Iowa company is going to say thanks this holiday season.

Fareway Grocery Stores announced on Wednesday that it will be giving cash bonuses up to $500 to all hourly employees this holiday season, according to CBS14. Those bonus payments will affect more than 10,000 frontline workers with Fareway Grocery Stores. Talk about a Merry Christmas! The bonuses are a thank you to employees who went above and beyond in 2021. Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer said in a statement,

We want to thank our Fareway family. Our store and market employees, office and campus staff, warehouse personnel, and transportation department have risen to the challenges faced during 2021. We thank and reward these incredible employees for a remarkable 2021.

According to CBS14, the bonuses will be paid out to qualifying employees by next Thursday, December, 16th. This isn't the first time that Fareway has given employees bonuses for showing up for work. In the heart of the pandemic in 2020, the grocery store chain also paid out bonuses to employees, according to KIFG. Those were under the Fareway Family Frontline program.
