Corridor to Welcome New Restaurant and Microbrewery
Another restaurant and microbrewery is making its way to eastern Iowa. This one promises plenty of live entertainment, as well.
According to the Corridor Business Journal, Field Day Brewing Company will be opening in North Liberty. Earlier this week, the North Liberty City Council gave unanimous approval to the new business which will be located behind Speedy Mike's Car Wash, just off Penn Street in North Liberty.
The nearly 21,000 square foot building that will house Field Day Brewing Company will be built not far from Liberty Centre Pond on the city's east side. It will also be very close to the popular restaurant, Tin Roost. The Gazette says Field Day's footprint will be nearly four acres and will include an outdoor patio adjacent to Liberty Centre Pond.
Brandon Pratt owns Lions Development Group, the developer of the project. Pratt has said previously that he views Field Day Brewing Company as a project that will "not only bring eyeballs to the City of North Liberty, but keep them there."
The hope is that people will come not just for food and drinks, but also for entertainment. While Field Day Brewing Company plans to have most musical entertainment inside, there will be some outdoor performances as well. Ryan Rusnak, Planning Director for North Liberty, expressed that he didn't believe those shows would cause noise issues for nearby residences:
The way the building is oriented, the outdoor space goes toward the northeast. So any kind of outdoor event I think is moving away from the direction of the building and not toward the residences.
Field Day Brewing Company is the latest restaurant venture for Brian Flynn. According to the Gazette, he also owns Joe's Place, 30hop, and Tin Roost. The Corridor Business Journal says Field Day Brewing Company should open sometime in 2023.
