Final Pickup For Non Organic CR Storm Debris is Underway

If you had shingles, fencing, or anything else blown over and destroyed during the August derecho, you're running out of time to set those materials out to be gathered if you live in Cedar Rapids. CBS2 reports that the city of Cedar Rapids began their final round of pickup of non-organic storm debris yesterday.

The Solid Waste Agency says that the city will pickup large and small piles throughout the city. As of right now, CBS2 reports that there is no time table for when crews plan to have all the non organic lifeforms collected. If you want to see how crews are doing, or if they are near your neighborhood, you can use the cities interactive map.Once crews make their final pass through your neighborhood, they're done!

Officials say that some streets still have large and small piles to pick up. A reminder that if piles are small enough they can be place out during your normal trash pickup today. How much crews will be able to pick up, depends on the day. CBS2 reports that crews are not only doing this, but they're also picking up more tree storm debris as well. Please keep trees and limbs separate from non organic materials.

So far there is no cutoff date for the gathering of organic derecho related debris.
