Fired West Union Cop Sues City

A former West Union police officer who filed charges of sexual harrassment and sex discrimination against leaders of her department, claims she was forced to unfairly resign in the wake of these charges, and is now suing the City.

Inlcuded in the suit is Police Chief Paul Becthold and City Administrator Nick McIntyre.  Fox alleges Becthold made inappropriate comments towards her and other women in the department to male officers and told other officers to offer her less assistance on radio calls. She also feels she was held to different and unfair standards compared to male officers.

Fox also had to return her K9 partner, Xena, who she claims was treated poorly and inhumanely by officers before being assigned to her.

The City and Police Department have not yet responded to the claims in the suit, and Fox is asking for a jury trial.
