Happy Thanksgiving! Eric Stone here, from KDAT, and I commonly notice two things this time of year. People say (and I agree with them) that Thanksgiving doesn't get enough attention because the world glosses past it to get the earliest possible jump on Christmas. Second, I personally don't often express enough thankfulness for the things I have. With that in mind, here is a list of five things I am thankful for:

  • 1

    My Family

Let's just get the obvious one out of the way first, but it's really true. Especially in the last 6 years since my mom passed away. I've learned even more about the importance of family sticking together and having each other's backs. I don't get to see all of them that often, but I love my family.

  • 2

    My Friends

As with family, as time goes by I realize the importance of keeping friends close and spending as much time bonding with them as possible. Friends are good for the soul, and mine are amazing.

  • 3

    End of Election

It's over, and whatever the future holds, all I know is that right now, we can all find reasons to celebrate in the next few weeks in our own lives. So let's put this election in the past and enjoy the holidays.

    Music

It's an important element in my work, but it would be an extremely important part of my life regardless, and I would miss it terribly if I didn't have it. Yes, even Christmas music! Music is the ultimate emotional cure-all.

    My Job

Finally, I don't know how many people get to say they even like their job, let alone love it or have a job in a field they have been interested in since they were kids. But I am certainly in that camp. I know I wouldn't get to continue this long without you, the listeners, so consider yourselves part of my list of thankfuls as well. Plus, I even get free concert tickets once in a while! How could I not be thankful for that?
