controversial change by a popular coffee shop chain to its holiday-themed cup.  I'm staying out of the fray of this complete nonsense, except to say that as a non-consumer of this highly overrated luxury known as Starbucks, the plain red cup looks perfectly festive to me, especially for something that's just getting thrown away or recycled when finished with the contents inside anyway. I would also point out that as it turns out there was apparently nothing religious in nature on the cups in the first place, which sort of weakens the boycotters' argument that the change fosters some "War on Christmas".

Pizza Hut, on the other hand, rolled out a (theoretically) much less controversial holiday-themed packaging concept, with the "Triple Treat Box": a three-layer, gift-wrap designed box that comes with the order of two medium single-topping pizzas, breadsticks, and a big cookie.
See the concept and read about it here. It's a very inviting concept for a product that increasingly becomes a quick dinnertime staple as the hustle and bustle of the holidays catches up with everyone. Even better, as the article suggests, you can clean it up and use it as a jewelry box when finished, or however you can find a way to use it. Bravo, Pizza Hut!
