KWWL reports that Jason had been a volunteer firefighter with the Coralville Fire Department before he was hired in Arkansas in December of 2021. While in Arkansas, Jason was in EMT clinical training at the Arkansas Fire Training Academy. KCRG reports that Lang was killed when a semi struck him alongside the interstate last Saturday morning. He was on his way to an EMT class when he stopped to assist at the scene of a crash.

Jason will return to the state of Iowa to be buried. He will be escorted today from Des Moines to Iowa City. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8th at Parkview Church. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 9th.
