The University of Northern Iowa football team got a big boost to their offense yesterday as former Marion wide receiver Blair Brooks announced he is transferring to the Cedar Falls school.

Brooks, who redshirted last year at the University of Iowa, announced his decision yesterday on Twitter. He had previously planned on transferring to Iowa Western Community College.

Blair Brooks is the son of Iowa sideline reporter Rob Brooks, and the grandson of the longtime broadcaster, the late Bob Brooks. He caught nine touchdowns his senior year at Marion. Brooks will also run track at UNI. He was the state champion in high school in both the long jump and the high jump.

Iowa did gain a wide receiver commitment Tuesday. Quavon Matthews, a receiver out of Florida became the Hawkeyes third player in five days to commit to the class of 2020 for Kirk Ferentz.
