Free Downtown Parking In Cedar Rapids for Holiday Revelers

Do you want to go out to ring in the New Year--or possibly raise a glass to the merciful end of the one gone by--but also make the responsible choice to not drive home? CBS2 reports that free parking for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day is being offered by Park Cedar Rapids. They are waiving all parking fees in the ramps listed here.

• GTC Ramp - 201 4th Avenue SE
• 4th Avenue Ramp - 349 4th Avenue SE
• 3rd Avenue Ramp - 333 3rd Avenue SE
• Southside Ramp - 600 2nd Street SE

Parking in the above ramps is free to those using them between the hours of Saturday, December 31 at 5 p.m. through Monday, January 2 at 5 a.m.  This gives you the option to toast the night away and only have to pay one-way for a cab home. Make sure to remove or hide away all valuables from your car if you choose to use the free parking option. If you can locate a ride to pick your vehicle back up during the hours listed, you won't be charged. Have a fun, safe and Happy New Year!
