I know, I know, I'm late to the party this time. But better late than never, right? I finally got a chance to see Frozen 2 this weekend, so let's talk about it!

The short version of this is: it's good, but not great. It's certainly not better than the first movie, both in songs and storyline, but like Kristen Bell says, if you bake a cake and it's delicious, and you use the same ingredients a second time, it's still going to be good.

On a deeper level, it's not that the story isn't as good as the first Frozen, it's just...heavier. Frozen 2 is surprisingly existential for a Disney movie, as Elsa and Anna try to figure out the secrets of the past and what exactly happened to their parents. All the while, Elsa is still trying to figure out where she belongs in the world.

There's no true villain in this one, which makes kids think a bit deeper on it. I would argue that if your youngin is under 7 or 8 years old, maybe hold off on seeing this one for a bit.

Overall: 8.5/10.
