The 1st ‘Golden Bachelor’ Called Iowa Home
The very 'Golden Bachelor' was announced and he has some ties to Eastern Iowa.
Earlier this week, Bachelor Nation finally met the lead of its newest program 'The Golden Bachelor.' It's supposed to be just like the 'Bachelor' we know and love but there's just one twist...
The lead is 71-year-old...
This spinoff of the hit ABC series will follow this grandfather on his journey to find love. The women vying for his attention are all 65 and up. Earlier this week, the franchise announced who would be the lead for this season, and his name is Gerry Turner.
Turner was married to his high school sweetheart, Toni, for nearly forty years. She passed away back in 2017, and now he's on a journey to find a new love in his golden years.
Gerry has two daughters, Angie and Jenny, and two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton. He's a retired restaurateur with strong connections to the Midwest.
Turner now lives in Indiana, but he is originally from Iowa.
“I am from Iowa, but I currently live on a beautiful lake in Indiana. I love all lake activities! I enjoy taking my grandkids on pontoon boat rides and doing jet ski races with them."
While none of these official Bachelor Nation publications were able to confirm where in Iowa he is from, a reality tv insider did speculate about some details about this guy before the news broke.
He was initially believed to be from Indiana and living in Davenport currently.
The show is set to premiere in the Fall on ABC, according to reports.
Gerry is looking for someone "high energy" and can play sports like golf and pickle ball with him.
