The storied program at Iowa City West High School has a new all-time leading scorer today. Former Iowa Hawkeye Glen Worley's scoring record at West was broken by a player who will don the black and gold next year... Patrick McCaffery.
*Note: Worley played for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the early 2000s, concluding in 2004.

Patrick, the son of Iowa head men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery, is a 6-foot eight-inch senior that's a nightmare for defenders. He needed nine points to become the Trojans all-time leading scorer and did it with ease. McCaffery poured in 29 in Iowa City West's 73-59 victory over Dubuque Wahlert Wednesday night. He now has 1,452 points in his career. Clearly, Glen Worley didn't mind a bit. He sent a pair of tweets last night. The first one includes a video of the record-breaking shot.

Glen's second tweet called McCaffery the GOAT (Greatest of All Time).

Patrick, a cancer survivor, is at the top of an impressive list of scorers who have played at Iowa City West. Besides Worley, other very recognizable names include UNI products Jeremy Morgan (son of former Hawkeye Michael Morgan) and Wyatt Lohaus (son of former Hawk Brad Lohaus), and Patrick's brother, Connor, who is already an Iowa Hawkeye.

Iowa City West finished second at last year's 4A boys basketball tournament and is ranked seventh as the final week of the regular season approaches.
