Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity has done it again. Every time I look, they're doing more amazing things.

This week they will build three homes in five days. Wow! That kind of productivity is almost biblical. Of course they don't do it alone - the really amazing part are the volunteers and corporate sponsors that help make it happen.

Professional homebuilders and suppliers will work alongside future homeowners in Cedar Rapids as part of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz June 4-8.

The blitz will take place in the 900 block of 12th St NE and will be completed in partnership with the Greater Cedar Rapids Housing and Building Association, Allan Custom Homes, Cedar Ridge Homes, Jim Sattler Custom Homes, Sattler Homes & Remodeling and Skogman Homes.

The builders and suppliers will provide the labor, funding and materials to help more than 250 families across the U.S. build strength, stability and self-reliance through improved shelter.

In Cedar Rapids, Cedar Valley Habitat and professional homebuilders will help three area families build, improve or repair a place they can call home. Local, professional builders and tradesmen will be working non-stop throughout the week to complete these three homes in Cedar Rapids.

These efforts culminate in a home dedication on June 8th at 4 p.m. where the new Habitat homeowners will be presented keys to their new homes.Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity is one of more than 70 local Habitat organizations partnering with homebuilders across the nation this week.

“We are so pleased to be doing our fourth blitz with the Greater Cedar Rapids Housing & Building Association,” says Jeff Capps, executive director of Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity. “This is a remarkable achievement for our community and we are so thankful for all the support coming from our friends in the local building industry!”

Since 1988, Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity has built or rehabilitated more than 150 homes. As Cedar Valley Habitat celebrates its 30th year building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter, they aim to serve up to 20 additional families in 2018 through a combination of projects, including new construction and exterior painting/repair.
