At first glance, today's game featuring 15th ranked Iowa at Michigan State looked like trouble. This is typically the time of year Michigan State really begins to turn it on and C.J. Frederick was out again for Iowa. It didn't take long to see neither would matter as Iowa spanked the Spartans on their home floor, 88-58.

Today, it was all about balance, even though Luka Garza, the favorite for College Basketball Player of the Year, had his lowest point output in a long time.

Garza scored just 8 points today, the first time all season he hasn't had at least 16 in a game. Iowa didn't need more.

Junior Joe Wieskamp poured in 21 to lead the way. He's led the Hawkeyes in scoring four of Iowa's last six games.

Sophomore Jack Nunge had a double-double, with 18 points (tying a career-high), 11 rebounds, and six assists.

Junior Connor McCaffery had 16, including 4 for 6 from 3-point range. The four 3-pointers for Connor were the most in a single game in his Iowa career. Iowa sunk 13 3-pointers, their most in a game this year, on just 25 attempts.

Iowa led by as much as 34 in the second half, before ending the contest with the 30-point victory. It's Iowa's largest-ever win in East Lansing, beating the previous best by 12 points. *The previous high was an 18-point win, 75-57, in 1983.

The 15-6 Hawkeyes have just five games left in the regular season, though the Nebraska game has not yet been rescheduled. Four of the five are against ranked opponents, including two against #21 Wisconsin. The first meeting is Thursday night in Madison. The game begins at 6 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN.
