Hazzard County Will Host a Battle of the Bands This Weekend

Hazzard County Saloon in Downtown Cedar Rapids will be hosting a big event on Saturday! 10 local bands will be competing in the 2019 Battle of the Bands!

Fans were asked to nominate their favorite Iowa bands on the event's official Facebook page, and then 10 were selected to compete this Saturday, April 20th. Those 10 participating bands are:

• 5 of Hearts
• Caitlyn Wolfe
• Catfish Murphy
• Cocked & Loaded
• The Evan Stock Band
• Jake Simon Band
• Lonesome Road
• The Tank Anthony Band
• Tanner Scheckel
• Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys

There are four judges for the event, one of them being me! Beth Cavalier from the Cedar Rapids Jaycees, Maxx Mitchell from Iowa Live Events, and Katie from the U.S. Cellular Center will also be judging.

The winners will be announced as soon as the event concludes, with both the runner up and winner invited to perform (with pay, of course) at the Cedar Rapids BBQ Roundup on Friday, June 21st. The first place winner will also get a paid performance at Hazzard County on Thursday, July 4th.

Following the Battle of the Bands, Iowa-native Danny Whitson will be taking the stage, playing until from 9:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.
