According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, "Crews are busy clearing trees to make room for all the good boys and girls at Hiawatha's soon-to-be dog park."

That's right, Hiawatha is finally getting a dog park! The two-acre park will feature both a small dog and large dog area. There will also be a pedestrian bridge and other cool features for people and their dogs to enjoy.

The idea for the park came from local car dealer Dave Wright. He approached the city with the idea and everyone loved it. I'm happy for the residents of Hiawatha, as well as the people that live on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids. They will really enjoy taking their dogs to this beautiful park.

No word on when the Hiawatha dog park will be opening. We will continue to follow this story and provide updates as soon as we learn more information.
