You really can't go 15 feet in an Iowa urban area without hitting a Hy-Vee store. If you're an Iowa native or even a Midwesterner in general, chances are you are very well aware of what Hy-Vee is. But for those not in the midwest, the concept of Hy-Vee is likely pretty foreign. It just sounds like a strange, random hyphenated, for lack of a better word, thing.
Soon though, more people in the U.S. will know what Hy-Vee is.
Hy-Vee is expanding its footprint in the U.S.
Hy-Vee, which is currently in Iowa (obviously), Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska will soon have locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. There will be locations in large cities like Nashville and Memphis. This is according to a KCCI report.
Those are physical, brick-and-mortar stores coming in the next year, but the company is also registered business in all 50 states. This is because of the companies online offerings.
Currently, anyone in the United States can make a purchase from thewebsite. Consumers can purchase food, supplies, toys, and even pet food in bulk.
Hy-Vee has had a very strong 2021
According to Forbes, Hy-Vee's revenue was up 18% this year over last, and the company pulled in $12 billion this fiscal year. The company employees over 84,000 people. Hy-Vee is headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa. The retailer opened its first store in 1930, and today operates more than 280 stores prior to its expansion. Roughly half of these locations are in the state of Iowa. Hy-Vee also operates many drug stores, liquor stores, and gas stations.
