Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, National Pancake Day at IHOP is going to be celebrated a little differently this year!

Today is a DOUBLE food holiday! Not only is today Fat Tuesday, but it's also National Pancake Day. Normally on National Pancake Day, you'd be able to head into your local IHOP for a free stack of pancakes, but not this year. The pandemic has thrown a wrench into IHOP's plans. Instead, they'll be pushing their National Pancake Day celebration to April. Their website reads:

"Sign up for MyHOP before March 31, 2021, to receive an IOU coupon in your inbox on April 1! If you’re hungry now, there’s no need to wait; you’ll also get a FREE Full Stack just for signing up!"

Signing up for MyHOP is super easy (and free). All you have to do is enter your email, name, and birthday, and then answer a few simple questions. I just did it and it only took about 30 seconds. Not a bad way to earn some free pancakes! If you want to sign up, you can do that HERE. If you're already signed up, then you're all set. Once your IOU is sent out on April 1st, you'll have the entire month to claim your free short stack.

IHOP is also encouraging patrons to donate to one of the charities that normally benefit from National Pancake Day. Locally, that charity is typically the Children's Miracle Network, the same organization that we work with each year for our Radiothon at the Children's Hospital in Iowa City.
