In Custody: Cedar Rapids Man Who Reportedly Had “Hit” Out For Christopher Bagley
A Cedar Rapids man who was said to have had a "hit" on Chris Bagley is now in federal custody after two search warrants were executed at his home and business on Tuesday.
30-year-old Andrew Shaw is being held at the Linn County Jail on charges unrelated to Bagley's death. Shaw had been previously mentioned in a January 8 search warrant for the Mt. Vernon Road house where Bagley was last seen. The warrant said that investigators learned through interviews that Shaw "had a hit out for Bagley due to an ongoing feud." Chris Bagley's remains were found buried next to a home on Soutter Avenue February 28.
Federal authorities raided Andrew Shaw-owned properties on Grizzly Ave NW (his home) and Capital Drive (Andy Shaw Investments) Tuesday morning. Shaw has been arrested and is facing a Federal Charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Drug User. KCRG says court documents indicate Shaw "may have paid someone to hurt Chris Bagley." However, he has not been charged in that crime.
The January 8 search warrant that mentioned Shaw also included Paul Hoff and Logan Gerger. Both men were arrested on federal charges almost two weeks ago, on charges from prior to Bagley's disappearance.
