Were you at last month's Freedom Festival Balloon Glow and found yourself a little torn between enjoying the glowing sights, beautiful weather and live music, but wondering "why aren't the balloons actually taking off"? Or do you just need more of your balloon fix?

The National Balloon Classic might be what you're looking for. It's a short trek to Indianola, Iowa July 26-August 3 at Memorial Ballloon Field, 15335 Jewell St. in Indianola.

General evening admission (gates and parking opening at 4 p.m.) is only $6 in advance, with cash-only admission of $8 at the gate. There are daytime flight viewings opening at 5 a.m. that are FREE for all ages.

The National Balloon Classic boasts itself as an event featuring over 100 hot air balloons spending 9 days "painting the town with brilliant colors and charming special shapes".

It's a family and kid-friendly event, too, with live music and great food to enjoy during the evening sessions while you check out the mesmerizing balloon flights.

It sounds like an event not to be missed for hot air balloon enthusiasts. Learn more about the event here.
