Iowa fans will say goodbye to the senior class of 2019 on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. It will also likely be the last home game for at least one outstanding junior too. Defensive end A.J. Epenesa is on the NFL radar and has been for several seasons. Iowa fans should enjoy their last look at him in Iowa City this weekend.

Epenesa led the Big 10 in sacks last season and wasn't even a full-time starter. This year, he's faced double and triple teams and still has produced for an outstanding Iowa defense. This past weekend when Iowa needed him most, Epenesa stepped it up against Minnesota. He finished the game with 2.5 sacks, four tackles, and a forced fumble in the 23-19 Iowa win. He was named the Big 10 defensive player of the week for the third time in his Iowa career.

So far this season, Epenesa has 26 tackles in 10 games. He leads Iowa in sacks with seven. He shares the team lead with 2 forced fumbles. He has two games left to add to those totals, the first of which is this Saturday against Illinois. Something tells me A.J. will go out in a big way.
