The future is now for Clarksville, Iowa's Maddie Poppe.

She appears tonight and tomorrow on "American Idol" with fellow finalists Caleb Lee Hutchinson and Gabby Barrett to see who will come out as this year's winner.

It's been a whirlwind run for the Iowa native, who recently came back to her home state for a heavily attended homecoming celebration, parade, concert and numerous interviews--including this one with our own Bob James and Danielle. She and the other finalists have also had their debut singles recently unveiled.

Meanwhile, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has also announced a declaration of today, May 20, as "Maddie Poppe Day" in Iowa.

It's a well-deserved honor for a talented young lady making all of us proud, and we see this as just the beginning.

Don't forget: the competition among the Final 3 starts tonight at 7, on KCRG TV-9 in Cedar Rapids. You will be able to vote from the start of the show tonight, until 8 a.m. Iowa time tomorrow morning. You can vote at ABC.com, The American Idol app, and by texting "10" to 21523. Each method allows 10 votes per person.

Happy Maddie Poppe Day, and go Maddie!
