It’s Official: Iowa Irish Fest in Waterloo is Back for 2021!
2019 was my first Irish Fest. I missed the 2018 one because I was on a family vacation. I enjoyed the experience a great deal, and was fired-up for the 2020 edition. That is until the world changed, and essentially stopped.
Well, after a year of COVID-cancelled events, 2021 is proving things will come roaring back! The Iowa State Fair announced its line-up, RAGBRAI is on the calendar, and there's the Great Jones County Fair plus many other area county fairs that have announced major touring artists will be in concert. So what's next for us in the Cedar Valley? Irish Fest!
The timing is... obvious. With St. Patrick's Day upon us, why not announce the major Irish-themed festival? The announcement actually came Tuesday, March 16, in the late evening.
Here's what we know from the posting:
- The 2021 Fest will take place August 6-8
- The festivities will go down in and around the newly renovated Lincoln Park in downtown Waterloo
- Bands will be announced as the event draws closer and final contracts are in place
In other words, stand by for more news on the 2021 edition of the Iowa Irish Fest. My thoughts, coming off a summer where we had virtually no entertainment, it will be great to get back into the realm of normal once again. Happy St. Patrick's Day indeed!
