Iowa is One of the Best States for Millennials
Millennials definitely have their share of financial struggles, but if you're living in Iowa, you may have it a little easier than folks in other states.
If you're between the ages of 23 and 38, congratulations! You're a millennial. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is totally up to you.
Zippia, a company that calls itself "The Career Expert," recently ranked all 50 states and Washington D.C. in a new study titled "The Worst States for Millennials." To determine the rankings they used factors like millennial unemployment rates, average student loan debt, millennial homeownership, and the percent of millennials living in poverty.
According to the study, Washington D.C., Georgia, New York, Florida, and North Carolina are the five WORST places for millennials. Lucky for us, Iowa wasn't even close to the bad half of the list! Actually, we were listed as the second BEST state for millennials! The millennial unemployment rate is 4.1%, millennial homeowner rates are at 43.81%, only 11.1% of millennials are below the poverty level, and the average student loan debt is $29,314.89. The only state to beat us was Utah. Wyoming, North Dakota, and Minnesota rounded out the top 5 best states for millennials.
