Last week, Carson King's fundraising total for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital eclipsed an astronomical $3 million. However, the original intent for Carson's eye-catching sign at ESPN GameDay on September 14, hadn't been realized. Remember... his Busch Light supply needed replenishing. Thanks to an Iowa businessman, that has now happened.

Mike Schonhorst, an insurance agent from Huxley, Iowa, personally bought 30 cases of Busch Light and delivered them to Carson on Monday. The total cost was $600+ but the manager of the Fareway where Schonhorst purchased the beer chipped in $100.

Why did Schonhorst do it? He told WHO,

What he did was simply amazing. He earned his reward. I was really disappointed when Busch cut ties but I can’t be too mad. They kept their word on matching the donation. Again, just didn’t seem right that he didn’t get the case of beer he was after to begin with.

King said,

The generosity of everyone is overwhelming. Mike is the man. Mike, thank you so much. Iowa Nice is so, so real. Oh and for everyone worried about it not being enough for a year’s supply, I promise to drink responsibly.

Yes, Carson King is now the owner of 720 cans of Busch Light... ok, it's probably somewhere in the seven hundred and teens at this point. He described the 30 cases as "beautiful" on Twitter.

What's even more beautiful is this story and how a simple sign has led to a simply incredible amount of money raised for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. The $3 million check will officially be donated to the hospital at this Saturday night's Iowa-Penn State game at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. If they do it at the end of the first quarter along with the Hawkeye Wave to the kids inside the hospital, there won't be a dry eye in the house.
