A 56-year-old Des Moines man is behind bars facing a variety of charges, including human trafficking of a girl listed as missing by the National Crime Information Center.

Richard Wisecup was arrested late Thursday at his Des Moines apartment. The unnamed victim, who is under 17, was in the apartment and was intoxicated. Wisecup faces charges of human trafficking, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wisecup told authorities he smoked cocaine with the girl. Authorities also asked him what the girl would say if asked if there had been intercourse between the two. Wisecup said, "She would say 'yes.'"

According to the Des Moines Register, the victim was able to use Wisecup's phone to leave a "help me" voicemail. She also sent texts indicating "He's been pimping me out... He was trying to bring me out of state, to Missouri."

Wisecup's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 18. He's being held in the Polk County Jail in Des Moines on $51,000 bond. There is now a no-contact order in place against him. It prevents Wisecup from having contact with any minor and he must stay away from any location that routinely has juveniles.
