The departures for the Iowa State basketball program continue. Freshman guard Talen Horton-Tucker announced on Monday that he was declaring himself eligible for the NBA Draft. Horton-Tucker was a key player for an Iowa State team that won the Big 12 Tournament and finished 23-12 on the season. The freshman averaged nearly 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

In making his announcement, Horton-Tucker did not mention leaving the door open for a possible return to Iowa State. Prospects can return to school if they go undrafted as long as they request an evaluation, take place in the NBA combine, and notify the school that they wish to return by 5 p.m. the Monday after the draft.

It could be a much different team next year for head coach Steve Prohm. Along with seniors Marial Shayok and Nick Weiler-Babb, Cam Lard will also not be back next season after announcing he will transfer. Guard Lindell Wiggington, a sophomore, tested the NBA waters last year and has not announced his future plans.
