Iowa’s Best Burger Winner Selected
A small-town Iowa restaurant has just been bestowed with a big honor.
Ossian is located between Decorah and West Union, and the pride of their town just grew exponentially as Bambino's has been selected as the spot with "Iowa's Best Burger."
It looks delicious! The Iowa Cattlemen's Association and Iowa Beef Industry Council partner to select the winner each year at this time.
Sue and Ron Lienau have been running Bambino's and over the years have had their four sons join them in serving up their award-winning burgers, fries and other delicious menu items.
If you can't tell by looking what makes them so delicious, Bambino’s burgers feature fresh, never frozen, 80/20 fine ground beef. Ron and Sue patty the 7-ounce burgers as orders come in. The burgers are then cooked to 160 degrees, placed on a fresh KwikStar bun, and customized.
Bambino’s, located right off Highway 52 on N Lydia St. in Ossian is open from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Sunday. They are located 10 miles south of the Decorah Municipal Airport, or six miles east of Calmar.
If you're wondering what goes into this honor, it's two-fold: the public votes from the initial choices. At the end of the month, ten finalists were selected, including a few from here in Eastern Iowa. It wasn't just the food that helped Bambino's win. They love their customers and say if you aren't a regular, you immediately become one when you set foot in Bambino's.
