Us Weekly magazine reported recently that a legal battle has been brewing between Australian pop legend Kylie Minogue and Kardashian relative Kylie Jenner over the rights to the first name used by each.

It is reported that in 2014, Jenner applied for a trademark to the name Kylie for "business purposes", likely meaning her makeup line, and that application was recently rejected. Simply put: both will likely still get to use the name, but Jenner won't get the trademark.

So, Kylie Minogue gains the upper hand in this battle for now, and in my opinion, rightfully so. Minogue burst onto the music scene in 1988 with her remake of the "Locomotion" and in a Twitter post last February proclaimed, simply,

She also staged a successful stateside comeback of sorts in the early 2000s with "Can't Get You Outta My Head".

Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner, who Minogue called a "secondary reality television personality" (oh, snap) won't get the name issue out of her head as, according to the story she has, naturally, already filed an appeal.
