The Bean is Great...But

Sure, it’s an iconic piece of art and definitely worth a selfie, but with all the other amazing sights Illinois has to offer, The Bean wouldn’t be my first pick. From breathtaking state parks and waterfalls to hidden caves and quirky roadside stops, there are so many other places that better capture the state’s beauty.

While The Bean is definitely a must-see in person, I wouldn’t call it the most beautiful place in Illinois. It attracts so many people that it’s hard to really take it all in and enjoy the moment. With hundreds of visitors trying to snap a picture, the beauty of The Bean often gets overshadowed by the crowds.
