It seems that lately there have been a lot of farming accidents popping up as more farmers are out in the field with heavy equipment. We have seen an increase in tractor-vehicle collisions and even tractor rollovers that have seriously injured or even claimed the life of a farmer.

Unfortunately, northeast Iowa lost one of its farmers in a farming accident Thursday.

According to KCRG, last Thursday, October 13th, the Delaware County Communication Center received a report about a farming accident. According to the report, the call was about a subject being caught in a grain bagger in the 2800 block of Quarter Road near Hopkinton.

Upon arrival at the scene, the emergency crews determined that the victim had passed from the accident. Crews identified the victim as 68- year-old Randall Wulfekuhle.

According to the KCRG article, Wulfekuhle was operating the grain bagger. He went to check or adjust the machine when his clothing got caught in the drive shaft.

A visitation for Randy has been scheduled for Friday, October 21, 2022, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in Manchester. An additional Visitation will take place Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 9 to 10:15 a.m.

According to KCRG, the Fire Marshall found that open burning is currently a danger to life and property, and a small spark to become a larger fire.
