For the last several months, Iowans on social media have been wondering what's moving into the former Gordmans building at 2515 Corridor Way in Coralville. The building, located in the Coral North Plaza, has remained empty since Gordmans closed its doors in 2020. A couple of different Reddit threads have speculated that Ross Dress for Less would be taking over the space, but nothing has been officially confirmed... until now.

According to a new article from the Corridor Business Journal, Ross Dress for Less will indeed be opening a new location in the old Gordman's in Coralville. The article says that the building will actually be split into two different businesses, so Ross won't be the only new tenant. A banner has gone up on the building with the Ross Dress for Less logo, confirming the news.

Ross Dress for Less is one the nation’s largest off-price retail chains. Wikipedia says t was originally called Ross Department Store when it was founded in California back in 1950, but in 1982 it was sold to a group of investors who turned it into the company it is today. Their website says that their focus is "bringing our customers a constant stream of high-quality department and specialty store brands at extraordinary savings (aka bargains) while providing an easy, fun and organized shopping experience." Although it is mainly marketed as a clothing store, Ross also sells home decor and other accessories.

We don't know when the new Ross Dress for Less is set to open in Coralville, but there are several other locations here in Eastern Iowa that you can check out in the meantime. There is one at 3500 Dalton Way SW in Cedar Rapids, one at 727 Brandilynn Blvd in Cedar Falls, and one at 902 West Kimberly Road in Davenport. You can check out all their locations and more on their website HERE.
