ALERT: Pigeons are Driving Buses in Cedar Rapids
I don't know how you feel about pigeons driving but if Iowa thinks they have decent vision and can operate a motor vehicle, fine. At some point, someone had to test Deer to know what colors they could and could not see. I'd guess it's the same with pigeons. An ophthalmologist, out there, gave a pigeon an eye test and then sent them to the DMV. They must have passed the driver test or there wouldn't need to be a musical about how pigeons shouldn't drive buses. If we're to believe the musical, it's not such a hot idea. Should we let pigeons drive in Iowa?
What's the deal with Pigeons?
Join Theatre Cedar Rapids for a special outdoor youth theatre presentation of "Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" from July 5-21 at the picturesque Peggy Boyle Whitworth Amphitheatre at Brucemore.
In this lively musical adaptation scripted by Mo Willems, "Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" promises more excitement than staying up late or even hosting a hot dog party! The Pigeon’s life is anything but thrilling – he never gets to do anything! However, when a crisis hits the Bus Driver and threatens to cause delays, could this clever bird finally step up?
Where did these pigeons come from?
Based on Mo Willems' beloved "Pigeon" picture books, which have topped the New York Times best-seller list and earned the Caldecott Honor, this production features lyrics by Mo Willems and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma, known for "Elephant & Piggie’s We Are in a Play!"
