As you might imagine, I get some interesting emails from time to time. Your inbox is probably the same. Last week I got another email saying that I might be owed compensation due to a lawsuit and settlement. The culprit? A popular game that my kids have played for years.

That game is called Roblox. It is an open-world game that allows players to participate in all kinds of different games. Users can customize their avatars with all kinds of different fashion choices and accessories. ClassAction.org reports that the lawsuit claims that Roblox deleted in-game content that users had already paid for, and then justified the move by calling it 'content moderation.' No refunds were offered. The $10 million settlement in the case will net users around half of their alleged losses.

So who is included in the settlement? According to the email that I received, anyone with a Roblox account created prior to May 11th, 2023, and had content removed can file a claim. The amount of your refund depends on how much Robox your account spent on content. The email that I got showed a formula of 1 Robox per $.01. So if you spent five bucks, you'll get 500 Robox back. If you spent more than $10 you can then choose to get your share of the settlement in cash and not Roblox. If your kids are anything like mine, you'll probably want to choose option number two.

If you got an email like I did asking if you want a part of the Roblox settlement, you can click HERE to make sure you are paid accordingly.
