It's as if people suddenly realized that people want to watch Caitlin Clark play basketball! Two announcements this week will allow even more people, including many here in the state of Iowa, to watch Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever during the WNBA regular season.

If you think that Clark's rise to the top of women's basketball could be a Disney movie, you're not alone. Disney+ has agreed to stream the Fever's WNBA regular-season opener, according to SI.com. The Fever opens up the season on the road at Connecticut on Tuesday, May 14th. A second game between the Phoenix Mercury and the Las Vegas Aces will also air on Disney+. The games will be the first live sporting events to air on the streaming service.

But perhaps the biggest news for fans back here in Iowa came yesterday. Hawk Central reports that broadcasting company TEGNA, which owns Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR, announced in late April they would be carrying 17 Indiana Fever games. The company announced on Wednesday that it would expand the broadcast of those games to 11 different markets through other stations it owns, and deals with broadcasters Nexstar and Gray Television. Hawk Central reports the move means that Fever fans in two Iowa markets, Des Moines and the Quad Cities, will be able to tune in.
