If you follow Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark on social media you know that she loves the game of golf. Later this summer she'll get her chance to prove it on the course with other celebrities and PGA pros!

KWQC reports that Clark and three other amateurs will team up with current Ryder Cup captain and Cedar Rapids native Zach Johnson at the John Deere Classic Pro-Am at TPC Deere Run. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 5th. After the round, Clark will also take part in the annual youth clinic at 3 p.m. at the driving range, according to KWQC. Tournament officials said that they are thrilled to give fans a chance to see two "Iowa sports heroes" play in the Pro-Am event.

A Des Moines native, Clark won the Naismith College Player of the Year award along with countless other accolades during her amazing junior season which saw the Iowa women advance all the way to the National Championship game. In addition to being this year's Ryder Cup captain, Johnson is a 12-time PGA Tour winner including two major championships, the 2007 Masters and the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews.

The 2023 John Deere Classic runs from July 5th through the 9th at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. J.T. Poston is the defending champion.
