A New Soul Food Restaurant Has Opened in Cedar Rapids
Catfish, baked mac & cheese, sweet potato pie... those are just some of the things you can order at Cedar Rapids' newest soul food restaurant! Soul & Vibez has opened its doors at 1323 1st Ave SE, the former home of Juicy Crab Island.
The Menu
Soul & Vibez began welcoming customers during their soft opening last weekend (October 9th through 11th). This week, they're open for more regular business hours, but they have yet to roll out their full menu. Instead, they've posted a "soft menu" for the week. It includes soul food classics, like catfish, chicken wings, and fried shrimp, as well as lamb chops, stuffed salmon, fried pork chops, and jerk chicken egg rolls.
And, you can't have soul food without sides! The menu features baked mac & cheese, greens, candied yams, fries, cornbread muffins, and more. For dessert, your options are sweet potato pie and banana pudding.
Business Hours
Soul & Vibez is now open from 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
