Two Big Vendor Markets are Happening in the Corridor This Spring

Mark your calendar for a couple of cool shopping events coming up this spring! Vintage Market Days and the Good Makers Market will be back in the Corridor in April and May.

The first of the two markets to happen this spring is Vintage Market Days at Hawkeye Downs. The event will take place April 21st through 23rd and features hand-picked vendors from across the country. The website reads:

"Vintage Market Days is an upscale vintage-inspired indoor/outdoor market featuring original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home décor, outdoor furnishings, consumable yummies, seasonal plantings and a little more."

The event also has food and live music.

I've been to several Vintage Market Days at Hawkeye Downs and I've spent WAY too much money each time. It's where I purchased my favorite pair of overalls... and then another pair! Here are the hours for the April market:

Friday, April 21st - 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, April 22nd - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, April 23rd - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The second of the two markets is the Good Makers Market. Held twice a year at the Cedar County Fairgrounds in Tipton, the Good Makers Market has the "best of the best hand-picked vendors from around the Midwest." While Vintage Market Days is a market that travels around the country, the Good Makers Market in unique to Eastern Iowa. This spring's two-day event will take place Friday, May 26th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 27th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to 100+ vendors with artisan goods, vintage items, plants, clothing, furniture, home decor, and more, the Good Makers Market also features live music, food trucks, and a llama petting zoo throughout the weekend!

I've been to the last three Good Makers Markets and it's definitely hard to stay on budget. I've gotten all sorts of amazing decor, dog treats, jewelry, clothes, and even a vintage chest for my living room! It does tend to get VERY busy, though, so I recommend going early. Plus, the first 100 people in line usually get a little goodie bag.

Tickets for the Good Makers Market can be purchased at the gate. Entry is $10 and ages 12 and under are free. Dogs are also welcome.
