Hy-Vee Announces Huge Donation to Help Feed Local Families
Recognizing how many people across the country are seeking food assistance due to rising prices and the imminent discontinuation of SNAP benefits, a Midwest grocery chain is doing its part to donate six figures in effort to help feed local families.
Hy-Vee announced via press release that they would be donating $100,000 to its Feeding America partner food banks. Feeding America has a plethora of food banks across Hy-Vee's region. The number of people who rely on food banks is only poised to grow with the holiday season near.

How Will Feeding America Use the Money?:
Hy-Vee's donation will go towards maintaining inventory levels at local food banks, per the press release. Hy-Vee Chairman and CEO Jeremy Gosch added that the company is committed to fighting hunger in its communities, which is why this donation is so significant.
The donation is also multifaceted. While $100,000 will go to Feeding America food banks, another $25,000 will be used for DoorDash's new initiative to waive delivery and service fees for customers who receive food assistance benefits. That allows their dollars to be put to food, not the method utilized to get them the food.
