A nearly 30-year tradition is coming back to Iowa!

The trains can get loud and annoying in the QCA but there's a special event returning to us that's for sure a welcome train.

The Canadian Pacific-Kansas City Railroad's Holiday Train is getting ready to head out for it's 27th season.

The train will travel through the U.S. and Canada from November 19th-December 21st and at every stop, they make donations to local food banks and encourage attendees to donate too. This year, they're set to return to Iowa for several stops!

The Iowa stops will feature live music from Smash Mouth and JJ Wilde from the train's decorated, festive stage.

Here are the Holiday Train's Iowa stops for this year:

Dubuque

  • Nov. 24 (9:45 p.m.-10:15 p.m.)
  • Hawthorne Street railway crossing at the corner of Hawthorne Street and Rohmberg Avenue

Bellevue

  • Nov. 25 (12:45 p.m.-1:15 p.m.)
  • Horizon Lanes Hall parking lot at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Elizabeth Street

Clinton

  • Nov. 25 (3:15 p.m.-3:45 p.m.)
  • 23rd Avenue and Grant Street

Davenport

  • Nov. 25 (6:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.)
  • Western Avenue and West River Drive

  • River Side Park at Chestnut Street and Harbor Drive

So for us, the Holiday Train will be a great way to usher in the holiday season right around Thanksgiving! Since the CPKC Holiday Train started in 1999, they have raised over $26 million and have collected about 5.4 million pounds of food for food banks in both the U.S. and Canada.

You can see the full schedule for the Holiday Train this year on CPKC's website.
