The 10 Funniest Fireworks Names You’ll Find In Iowa This 4th Of July
Names say a lot about the firework, truly.
It's a special 4th of July as America turns 250 years young! And this is when drunk people you wouldn't trust with a glow stick get their hands on fireworks!
American Pyrotechnics Association stats show that about 250 million pounds of consumer fireworks are set off in the good ol' U.S. of A every year already. The actual show fireworks, called "display fireworks" (the ones cities and municipalities use) is an additional 25 million pounds.
We can all just admit it: we definitely buy fireworks based on their packaging. There's actually psychology behind this that shows the cool names and bright packaging evoke kind of a childlike wonderment in us.
And they make stuff go boom.
Take A Minute For The Names
There's no shortage of puns or innuendo names when it comes to fireworks. There are bottle rockets, fizzy ones, glittery ones, Roman candles, pop-its, sparklers, the list goes on and on.
Some names can dip into innuendo too. My favorite so far that I've seen this year is "2 Minute Super Finale", which every straight woman can understand.

Meanwhile, other names are just funny. Which is a great strategy because who doesn't want to roll up to the cookout with a lighter and 'Friggin Crickets'? Even just to see what it does?
So as I was doing my fireworks shopping trip at Crossroads Fireworks (which is in Bettendorf, Waterloo, and Williamsburg), I documented the top 10 funniest fireworks names that I saw.
Scroll down to see the 10 funniest-named fireworks you can get in Iowa! And make sure you get your fireworks shopping done before the weekend too!
