Popular Eastern Iowa Store And Lounge Announces Closure
A popular Quad Cities store is closing it's doors.
Yabba Dabbas House of Glass will close all 4 of their locations soon.
According to a Facebook post by Yabba Dabbas owner, Heather Dabbas, the stores will have a liquidation sale of 35% off, cash only. Yabba Dabbas is a home of glass products, vapes and CBD, and snacks. The Bettendorf location also has disc golf supplies. Their Ascention Lounge offered a live music space, smoking-friendly area and gear, and even kickball.
According to Heather's post, the closures will time out like this:
- Davenport (3559 West Kimberly): closed Sunday, July 13
- Bettendorf (3207 Devils Glen Rd): closed
- Moline (4416 Avenue of the Cities): TBD
- East Moline (209 12th Avenue): "will remain open until it no longer makes sense"
Their liquidation sale is looking to get rid of cases, fixtures, coolers, art, everything in the store. The Moline and East Moline liquidation sales start on Monday, July 14th.
As for why they're closing, Heather says it's a combination of other stores carrying the same items and new taxes and tariffs:
I can’t even explain the stress that comes along with being a retail store in the age of internet shopping, the competitors that keep opening across the street from me, every gas station carrying the same thing…New tariffs, taxes, and permits. Everyday is a fight and I don’t want to fight anymore.
Heather adds that anyone interested in taking Yabba Dabbas spaces should reach out to her. She says she'll leave them stocked with shelves and display cases.
