Hidden Gem in Wisconsin Among America’s ‘Coolest Small Cities’
I just spent a few days this past weekend in this city, and I must admit, I forgot about this place.
This town has long been a weekend getaway paradise for Chicagoans, but it hasn't gotten the publicity it deserves in recent years.
Where we live, in the Rockford area, most people around me always talk about Galena as a great spot for a day trip.
You rarely hear Lake Geneva mentioned in the same breath.
It's closer than Galena, and after looking around yesterday, it seems like it might just be as good a time.
According to The Quick Report, it's also been named the Coolest Small City in Wisconsin.
I visited Lake Geneva this past weekend for a baseball tournament and also had the opportunity to visit the downtown area.
They have so many great shops and restaurants that I turned to my wife while walking around and said, "We need to remember this place the next time we're looking for something to do."
It's been a while, but I have visited Lake Geneva for bachelor parties, and my wife has been to town for weekend trips with her friends.
It's excellent for families and for people just looking to have a good time.
TripAdvisor lists the Tristan Crist Magic Theatre, the Geneva Lake Shore Path, Geneva Lake, and Black Point Estate as the top 4 destinations while visiting.
Besides that, a family-friendly food tour, a Lake Geneva ghost walk, and a lively Lake Geneva scavenger hunt are listed as three fun experiences.
