For the first time in over one hundred years, there will be swimming allowed in a famous river located in Illinois.

As long as I can remember, I've enjoyed swimming. Especially in places like a pool, ocean, or lake. I find it refreshing and relaxing. I do have one stipulation. The water has to be clean. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

Of course, not every body of water is clean and meant for swimming. Throughout my life, I have always heard that the Chicago River is so polluted that it's dangerous to swim in. I've never seen anybody actually try it. That would be dumb. Well, until now.
The Chicago River is now considered safe for swimming. I think that's great news, but still very shocking to me. That proves it's never too late to fix the wrongs of the past. This will just help Illinois in the long run. First, an Iron Man taking place in the Rock River, and now this. I'm happy to see this sort of stuff happen.
