I'm a big fan of taking time away from work and getting out of town for at least a couple of days. Every summer, we take a big family trip. During the rest of the year, my wife and I will take a couple of long weekend getaways. We'll usually go somewhere like Wisconsin or Michigan. I just found out about a place that has recently been added to our "must-visit" list. We look for unique things to do, and this definitely fits the bill.

The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad offers the only bed and breakfast in the country set entirely aboard a moving train. Blending nostalgic charm with modern comfort, this one-of-a-kind experience lets travelers sleep in restored railcars while rolling through scenic countryside.

 

In the northwest part of Wisconsin, near Eau Claire, there is a very unique bed and breakfast. When they say it's one-of-a-kind, they really mean it because it's the only one of its kind in the entire United States. It's on a real working train. The trip leaves later in the afternoon and returns late the next morning. It sounds like a fun experience.

You'll spend the night in a sleeper car and have your meals in the dining car. There's even a lounge for late-night activities. The overnight trips are only for adults, but they do have some family ones available.
