You read that headline correctly. A man in Creston, Iowa is currently being charged with 24 different sex-related crimes, all of which are felonies. Thankfully, he was taken into custody at 7 pm on Thursday, December 1.

As of now, according to the Creston News Adviser, 41-year-old Gregory Clair was arrested on "charges including 18 counts of sex abuse on a child under 12, four counts of incest, and two counts of continuous sex abuse of a child."

Reportedly, the investigation began when the victims' mother shared with local authorities that her daughters had been sexually abused by Clair, a relative.

A Creston Police report that was obtained by the newspaper said that "victims stated many of the acts happened multiple times, including reported abuse spanning more than two years for two of the victims."

It's alleged that Clair told the victims not to tell anyone, otherwise they would be 'in big trouble.' The youngest of the two victims was just six years old when the reported abuse by Clair began.

Four of the charges are listed as Class D felonies while 20 are Class B. According to Criminal Defense Lawyer, "A class 'B' felony is typically punishable by up to 25 years in prison," and "A class D' felony, the least serious type of felony in Iowa, is normally punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and a fine of between $1,025 and $10,245."

Considering he's facing 20 different Class B felonies, Clair -- if convicted -- will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.

As of now, the Creston man is being held in Union County Jail on a $495,000 cash or surety bond.
