Droves of people in ponchos filled the Iowa State Fair Grandstand for the fifth concert event of the fair. One of the most highly anticipated acts of the 10 day Iowa summer tradition was seven time Grammy Award winners

The entire day was a wash, but fans still buzzed at the idea of seeing the Canadian singer. Rain couldn't keep eager concert goers away nor could it keep the jokes from coming in droves.

Most people thought it was a bit...ironic.

According to We Are Iowa, 12,129 people attended Morissette's show in Des Moines. Her opener was country rising star Morgan Wade. She did a quick forty minute set that concluded with her radio hit 'Wilder Days.'

Wade released an all acoustic album featuring that radio single and some of her other popular tracks. It's called The Acoustic Sessions EP and is out now!

Moving on to Alanis! She was wrapping up her Jagged Little Pill's 25th Anniversary Tour in Iowa's capital city on Monday, August 15th. This follows her near historic and SOLD-OUT 2021 tour.

There were quite a few standout moments during the 90s icon's performance. The rain did prove to be a challenge for both her and some of the concert technology. Right around the third song of the night, Morissette slipped on the stage.

Stage crew came through for the rest of the concert to mop up the rain water.

It also brought with it some technology issues. Halfway through the concert, the sound system blared for a few seconds and went out during one of the songs. Fans covered their ears until the loud feedback passed.

"Our power went out for a second," the singer said after that song concluded. "So we're gonna continue."

Alanis smiled and continued performing.

When it came time to perform one of her most well-known songs 'Ironic' fans noticed a bit of a change in the lyrics. The words to the song originally went like,

"It's meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful wife."

Alanis Morissette has been playing around with the words to some of her hit songs whilst on tour. Some of these updates are meant to better represent her own life since she initially wrote the songs.

During her Iowa State performance she changed the previously mentioned lyrics to

"It's meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful husband."
