New Restaurant in Cedar Falls Announces Opening Date

Starbeck's Smokehouse, located at 250 Westfield Avenue in Waterloo is a local favorite. The restaurant which offers a variety of barbecue options is owned and operated by Jeff Starbeck.

He announced to the public that he will be opening up another restaurant soon with local chef, Shane Reiter.

This new eatery is called King Bucks and the staff will serve up burgers and brews. Officials from the new business announced that there will be twelve tap lines, and over ten different burgers and sandwiches that you can choose from.

Another cool aspect about the new spot is that there will be a drive through for quicker service!

This space also has a stage set up inside, which will be perfect for live music and karaoke. Owner Jeff Starbeck said he hopes that they can do live music three or four nights a week.

King Bucks Location

King Bucks is going to be operating out of a very coveted spot in Cedar Falls.

The new eatery will be located at 6719 University Avenue which used to be the home of Burger King and Total Nutrition, according to reports.

Also, the restaurant team was able to get the space next door to the old Burger King. They tore down the wall and just made it into one big restaurant space.

Inside King Bucks you'll see a wide array of unique decorations that help the space lean into an old school vibe. A local artist even painted a mural right along the wall behind their eighteen-person bar.

When Is King Buck's Opening?

The team behind the Cedar Valley's newest restaurant have been working hard all summer to get King Bucks ready for customers. It was just confirmed by the staff at the eatery that they would be holding a soft opening at the very beginning of September.

Thursday, September 5th is the official soft opening date for King Bucks in Cedar Falls.
